Driving Spirit | Photography | African Sunrise
I had the pleasure of meeting and becoming friends with CJ when in rehab. This was nearly three years ago and it's been a pleasure and an inspiration to see her adapt to and take on some many new roles, even starting her own business and NGO. She is also an incredibly talented photographer and the pictures of some of the children she helps move me a lot. Her commitment to helping the children and the homeless of Cape Town is incredible and I have enjoyed working with her on various projects and hope to continue to do so in the future. This is her introduction to herself surrounded by some of her photographs, to contact her or purchase prints then just click on the picture straight to her Facebook page where you can message her personally.
'I am the Co-Founder of Driving Spirit, an organisation that fundraised and built a kindergarten in the Phillipi Township of Cape Town. I have been involved with many NPO's, doing drives including a Gumboot Drive, Repurpose Schoolbag drive, Shelter Drives, among many others. I am also the Director of African Sunrise Volunteers, connecting other volunteers and interns with NPO's in Cape Town, and at the same time, fundraising and assisting the NPO's. My other initiatives: Director of Breaking Bread, a new NPO focusing on soup kitchens and the homeless, I am also a published Humanitarian Photographer. I have been in Recovery for almost 3 years, and my spiritual journey has been enhanced by my work with the homeless and destitute. Service is one of the biggest parts of my recovery'
